Memory Paintings

These Covid-19 days...challenging. For many weeks since it all fell apart I couldn't paint - really, I couldn't do much. One can get used to anything, I'm learning. Anxiety and gratitude are familiar visitors, so I try to focus on gratitude. A series that's been lurking for years stepped to the forefront a few weeks back! At the moment my studio walls are showing half-completed paintings of family members, places I've loved with friends and family, and places on earth that have plain ol' touched my heart.

Here's a view from the remote island campsite we visited annually for years. On to a dreamy one of my grandpa in a canoe on a Maine river, and portraits of both of my sons, and a happy interior of the Big House kitchen at Great Spruce Head Island, and more.
