I've been thinking a lot about the painting process. Here I'm sharing at least the visual part of my process, from source photo through value sketch/underpainting and on to the completed painting. (Thanks again to photographer Barbara Aiello for the inspiration.)
My aim was to celebrate the form and structure of the view, and to personalize the color. The finished piece, Source of Life, is 24" X 24", oil on linen.
